Basel got back to the winning ways after two consecutive setbacks in their title bid, with a 3:0 victory away from home against St Gallen last weekend. Stocker and Delgado brought them into 2:0 lead already after the first halftime, while the visitors sealed the three pointer with second goal from Stocker in 56th minute.
As said, this was their first victory after two matches without a win, as they previously lost the Cup final against Zurich, but were also limited to a 1:1 home draw against Grasshoppers two weeks before. Now, after this victory the team has four points more than second placed Grasshoppers and are very close to reach the title finally. In order to do so, they will surely want to get the three points tonight and try to seal the title as soon as possible. Top goalscorer Streller (27/10) is doubtful and might play some time if needed, while the team continues to miss midfielders El Nenny (30/1), Calla (11/1) and defenders Ivanov (11/0) and Xhaka (23/2) all out being injured.

Luzern, on the other side, comes from a surprising 0:1 defeat at home against Sion last weekend. The game itself was quite uninteresting, with the home side being slightly better, but without concrete chances, while the visitors got the three pointer with the only goal being scored at the start of second half.
That defeat broke a streak of three consecutive victories, away to Zurich, home against Aarau and St Gallen, as the team currently stands at fourth position and has every chance to get the Europa League ticket in the end of the season. They are three points above their closest followers, but also only a point away from third placed Young Boys and although they know they can’t do much tonight away to Basel, surely they would benefit from even a point. Defenders Lustenberger (24/1) and Matri (2/0) are out injured, same as midfielders Renggli (25/1) and Hochstrasser (14/0).
Basel has finally got back to the winning ways, gave a very positive performance few days ago and should have no problems against Luzern in one of their final “have to win matches” before they secure the title.
