Motherwell deserved their 2:1 home victory over St Johnstone last weekend, victory that kept them secure at the third place with six points more than Dundee and a game less played. All interesting things happened in the first halftime, as the hosts scored the opening goal in 21st minute, but the visitors replied few minutes later.
Even so, their respond came fast too, scoring the second goal in 36th minute, while the visiting side tried to reply once more, but without being effective, even though they kept the ball more and had some chances later in the game. As said, this victory kept them at the third position which is their realistic goal for the season which will lead them to Europa League. However, they could even reach the second position as they would be only a point below Aberdeen in case they reach the three pointer tonight. Defender Simon Ramsden (18/0) and midfielders Paul Lawson (17/0) and Stuart Carswell (27/0) are sidelined for tonight’s game.

Inverness, on the other hand, comes from a 1:1 home draw against Dundee United last weekend. They have entered the game in the best possible way, scoring a goal by Christie in seventh minute, while the visitors spent the rest of the game trying to equalize which they finally did in second part, scoring it in 71st minute by El Alagui.
They have been playing most of the play-off matches without much competitive motives, as the team currently occupies fifth position and can’t reach the European ticket this way. They are on a run of three matches without a victory, including a 6:0 loss to Celtic and a bore goalless draw against Aberdeen and surely wouldn’t mind getting back on positive ways here when they visit Motherwell as the form wasn’t so good in last weeks. Two important defenders are doubtful for this game, Gary Warren (32/2) and Josh Meekings (34/0), while midfielder Richie Foran (24/4) surely misses due injury.
Goals are expected here from both sides, while Motherwell remains favorite to win the game, their defense is nothing close to reliable and will surely give enough space for visiting attackers to create dangerous situations.
