Chelsea continued with successful performances as the team is coming from a 2:0 victory on the road over Hull City last weekend. Even though the game didn’t have many offensive phases, the visitors have upped the tempo in the second half and got the three pointer deservedly with goals from Hazard in 56th and Torres in 87th minute.
It was their fifth consecutive victory in all competitions, as the team closed the 2013 year with two victories and open the new one with three consecutive victories, all three without goal conceded. After that good run, team is finally close to the positions they deserve, as the Blues are currently at third position with only two points behind the leaders from Arsenal. Getting into another derby game, there is no other target for the Blues but to continue their winning streak over shaky Manchester United. Frank Lampard is doubtful and might not play, while Branislav Ivanovic (19/1) remain the main absentee for coach Jose Mourinho, who has signed Matic from Benfica as a cover for their captain Lampard. Midfielder van Ginkel (2/0) is already long term absentee, but anyway doesn’t influence the game of the hosts.

Manchester United, on the other side, took a much needed breath with a 2:0 victory over Swansea last weekend. The teams were equal in the first halftime and the visitors had much more of the ball possession during the game, but the hosts showed improved efficiency and sealed the victory with goals from Welbeck and Valencia at the start of repetition.
With this victory, United has broke a streak of three consecutive defeats, as they lost in a row to Tottenham, Sunderland and Swansea, luckily for their Premier League target, two of these three defeats were in Cup competitions. Visitors will be without right back Fabio (1/0) who is suspended, injured defensive midfielder Fellaini (8/0), midfielders Nani (8/0), Young (10/1) and forwards van Persie (11/7) and Rooney (17/9). Things to be worse, coach Moyes has few players doubtful for this game, as he is still to find out whether left defender Evra (20/1), central defender Jones (13/0), Ferdinand (7/0) and Evans (13/0) will be ready for the game.
Much better form and surely better atmosphere in Chelsea can’t be ignored this time. Hosts are looking like real favorites in this game, especially when we add problems regarding injured players in Manchester.
