Ajax closed the previous year in a best possible way, as the team had three consecutive victories and more importantly, nine victories in last ten matches including one draw. Half of the season could be described as a successful for them as the team got the third position in Champions League and will continue in Europa League, although they were just a point behind second placed Milan and competitive till the last minute.
In any way, the team continues in Cup competition, but also does very well in the league as they finished first eighteen rounds being tied with Twente and Vitesse at leading position, which means that the team holds the destiny in their own hands and have a chance to get through the double title in Holland. Last match saw them winning 1:2 on the road against Roda, while the team had two friendly games in Turkey, losing out to Galatasaray 2:1 and drawing against Trabzonspor 1:1, the game that they later on lost on penalties. Coach Frank de Boer has no injury worries in front of this game, as everyone is ready and have prepared under the best possible conditions. Siem de Jong will probably start as a false nine, while Nicolai Boilesen is also expected to return to the starting lineup.

PSV, on the other hand, had a very turbulent first part of the season as the team got excluded from Europa League, but also many, many domestic matches ending the year only at seventh position. Nobody in the club can be satisfied with their 7-5-6 record in the league till now and it’s to be seen how the team will react at start of second part.
Things to be worse, they were even excluded from the Cup competition back in Autumn, as the team has now only domestic league as a chance to get the European position. Ajax have showed much more during all first part of the season and with the help of their fans, it’s really hard to see anything but the home victory here. Clear one probably ending with more than a goal difference.
