After three consecutive victories, Lincoln now entered poor phase as they suffered third consecutive defeat. This time it was away from home against Woking with a 3:1 result. They were 2:0 down already in the first halftime and although they have reduced relatively early in the second half, they conceded the third goal nine minutes later.
Since then, they were unable to get back into the game once again. Now, the team is in the second part of the table, but with only few points away from the top five teams which will get the play-off ticket in the end of the season. After the season opener, they now count six straight matches with over 2.5 goals and with both teams scoring in each game, as coach Simpson has spoke of naivety of his team when defending. Defender Miller is injured, but he hasn’t play this year anyway, while the home side welcomes back defender Nat Brown (6/0) who was suspended in previous game.

Grimsby won 2:0 at home over Welling, scoring a goal in each half. The team generally looked well on the field, stressing out that the first defeat in the season didn’t hurt them much, as it came away from their stadium. Still, they are outside of the top five positions which is their target this season.

Open game is expected here, as Lincoln doesn’t generally inspire with confidence at the back when they try to attack. Grimsby remains closer to the victory, but even if they do so, it will be with plenty of goals in a very attractive game.
