Sunderland continued to impress everyone in last four weeks, with the most recent 1:0 victory away to Manchester United on Saturday evening. Only goal was scored by Larsson in 30th minute, while the Red Devils spent the rest of the game trying to equalize, but without much of success.
They dominated the game but without many real goalscoring chances, while the visitors stood more than well in the defense. In any way, atmosphere in locker room of Sunderland is now sky high, as the team was overwritten by many, not only because of difficult schedule, but also because of lack of points and amazingly tight program they had. Still, they managed to beat all the odds, drawing away to Manchester City and winning over Chelsea and Manchester United away from home, as well as winning over Cardiff in recent weeks. With three consecutive victories, they climbed up to the safe zone and now have a chance to get the salvation mathematically sure in case of a victory. Forward Fletcher (20/3) is out injured, same as midfielder Sung-Yeung (27/3) and long term absentees Cuellar (4/0) and goalkeeper Westwood (10/0).

WBA, on the other side, comes from a 1:0 narrow defeat away to Arsenal last weekend. The Gunners have outplayed them from the first minute and sealed the victory with a goal from Giroud in 14th minute, while the visiting side remained without much of the chances to react during the game.
Still, the team is just above the relegation zone and have every chance to remain with Premier League status in case they walk away with something tonight. Currently they are at 16th position, having three points more than relegating Norwich. Right back Jones (21/0) is doubtful, but may be risked by coach Pepe Mel at his primary position. Other right back Reid (15/0) is injured, same as left back Ridgewell (31/1) and offensive midfielder Gera (14/0). Forward Thievy (6/2) is doubtful with chances to play.
Open game is expected here, as Sunderland plays better than ever and will surely aim for very attacking approach and a victory in the end. Over goals gathers much more chances than the odds are currently showing.
