Fair was the final 2:1 home victory of Sandnes last Wednesday evening over Stabaek. Home side was simply more active on the field, looked like they know what they wanted and despite early goal and conceding equalizer in 62nd minute, significant number of chances missed for the 2:0 result, they sealed the victory with a goal fifteen minutes before the full time whistle.
After two consecutive defeats in previous weeks, against Molde and Odd, Stabaek returned to positive ways with a 2:1 home victory over Bodo Glimt, but this latest result once again cut their wings. After this loss and yesterday’s results, Stabaek is now ninth at the standings with nine points gathered till now, but with a game less and in case of a victory tonight, they could even go to the fourth position being tied with Rosenborg. However, their target is to remain in the league and everything above that would be great success for a very young team that played quite unreliably till now. Coach Bradley will not be able to count at injured central defender Jurgen Hammer who is long term absentee, while doubtful is central midfielder Craig Henderson (4/1) who came this Winter from Mjallby.

Valarenga showed probably their best face yet in the season, as the team managed to get a 3:0 home victory over current champions from Stromsgodset. Both teams had many opportunities to score, while the hosts were surprisingly effective and fairly took the victory.
It seems that Valarenga’s form is finally going into the right direction, as the team has now two consecutive 3:0 home victories and is slowly approaching top of the table with a 3-1-2 record and are now only four points away from the positions that leads to Europe next season. However, they are yet to react away from home having 0-1-2 record and having scored only one goal till now on the road. Much better away performance is targeted now, as well as the three pointer that would bring them closer to the top of the table. Coach Rekdal will be without offensive player Daniel Holm (3/0) who injured his neck and the pause is needed, while experienced key central defender Andre Muri (4/0) continued to be sidelined with injury too, as well as substitute goalkeeper Gudmund Kongshavn (2/0).
Both teams prefer open, attacking football and in a local derby with rivalry, everything except that would be a huge surprise. Both teams to score and over goals looks like most logical choice in front of quite unpredictable final outcome.
