Utrecht ended their negative run of four defeats with a 1:1 draw at home against Ajax, team that is one of the most inform sides at the moment. They stood well on the field, looked good for the most of the game and generally, took a much deserved point, even though the visitors pressed at the end of the game.
Ajax preceded with a goal in fifteenth minute, but got drawn quickly in thirty third, while the both sides had a crossbar later on during the game. Coach was more than satisfied after the game, saying that the team finally managed to show teeth to opponent, adding that his side worked hard on the pitch. The roster wasn’t renewed anything special during the transfer window, while the team wants to get back to winning ways at least at home, with a last victory being earned on sixth December. Main central defender Heerings (20/1) returns from suspension, while midfielders Duplan (5/0), Janssen (5/1) and forwards Mulenga (10/2) and van der Gun (7/1) remain outside sidelined with injuries.

Zwolle, on the other side, is coming from a second straight victory, as they defeated Roda 3:1 at home last weekend. They were more aggressive at the start of the game and have taken a lead in ninth minute, but Roda equalized later on at the start of the second part. Non existent penalty gave them 2:1 lead, while the victory was sealed in the second minute of the delays.
Including the Cup competition, this was third consecutive victory for Zwolle, as the team entered the second part of the season in a best possible way, after a loss to Vitesse. Six consecutive points have helped Zwolle to leave the dangerous positions and now they are hoping for participating in the playoffs. The side has no many alternative solutions at the bench, but are looking like a well organized team and surely wants to come back undefeated tonight. Defensive midfielder Mokotjo (21/2) will be out for tonight’s game with injury, same as long term absentees left back Labylle (7/0) and central defender Lachman (17/1) and van der Werff (14/0). Finally, right winger Hiwat (12/1) is also out for this game.
Both teams are coming into this game with elevated psychology and we should see a bit more open game than the bookies are representing. After a good performance against Ajax, Utrecht should be even more determined, while the visitors have already proved their efficiency in previous weeks.
