Nigeria winger Ejike Uzoenyi has been named the most valuable player of the 2014 African Nations Championship by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The Enugu Rangers star scored in thrice in two of his team’s six games at the tournament organised for locally based players. He won three consecutive man-of-the=match awards and also supplied four assists in the Super Eagles' 13 goals at the championship. Nigeria also won the fair play trophy at the competition. Libya defeated Ghana 4-3 on penalties to be crowned champions for the first time in any continental competition while Zimbabwe had earlier in the day bowed 1-0 to Stephen Keshi’s men courtesy of Christian Obiozor’s 85th minute strike as Nigeria won bronze.
