Cardiff City forward Craig Bellamy faces a three-game ban for appearing to strike Swansea’s Jonathan de Guzman in Saturday’s 3-0 loss in the South Wales derby.
The Football Association (FA) has decided to charge the retired Welsh striker with violence conduct over the incident, which occurred during the second-half of the game and was not noticed by the match officials but caught on video.
Bellamy has until 18:00GMT on Tuesday to respond.
The defeat left Cardiff three points points away from safety in 19th with a game against 12th-placed Aston Villa at home on Tuesday night/
