2015: Ango, Waku Tongue Lash Yakassai Over Jonathan Support

jonathan_2015Prominent members of Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Professor Ango Abdullahi and Senator Joseph Waku yesterday lambasted the chairman of the newly formed Northern Elders Council (NEC), Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, for endorsing President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term, saying he is not representing the interest of the North.

In their separate views, Professor Abdullahi said the NEC chairman should be seen as an errand boy who is simply carrying out his master’s bidding.

“I would rather describe him as a hunter’s dog, all of them in the NEC have no electoral value, but we in the NEF have electoral value, and we will not leave NEF”.

Also, Senator Waku said, “NEC is not representing the interest of the North, they are job seekers, and they have mortgaged their conscience for a pot of food. They are used to carry a virile agenda. I wonder why an 89-year old man should be running an errand just for a pot of food”.

It would be recalled that Yakassai had on Thursday in Kaduna while inaugurating the NEC, called on northerners to support President Goodluck Jonathan and his deputy, Namadi Sambo in the 2015 general election, adding that the duo have good working relationship to bring more developments to the country.
