"Proof" That APC Is Responsible For Pipeline Vandalism

Here's My Proof That APC Is Responsible For The Recent Gas Pipeline Vandalism

In the last few months, Nigeria's power sector has come under vicious attack from agents of DARKNESS who vandalise critical gas pipelines, disrupt flow of gas to major power stations thereby forcing severe power rationing on most parts of the country.

Here is a report on the attacks on critical gas pipelines in 2013 and the impact it had on Nigeria's power sector

Sincere 9gerian:

21st Jan 2014

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, on Monday said pipeline vandalism was the reason behind the drop in gas supply, which has reduced power generation and availability of electricity across Nigeria.

Mr. Yakubu attributed the incident to outright sabotage of some crucial gas pipelines, which he said, had significantly eroded available gas supply to the power plants.

He said that as at last weekend, over 30 per cent (480 MMsf/d) of the installed gas supply capacity was out, due mainly to vandalism. The GMD said that the lost gas was equivalent to the gas requirement to generate about 1,600 MW of electricity. He listed the pipelines involved to include the Escravos-Warri stretch of the Escravos Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) which accounted for (190 mmcf/d) and the Trans-Forcados crude pipeline (230 mmcf/d).

The outage on the ELPS has been on for over six months due to willful acts of vandalism at various locations between Escravos and Egwa location,” Mr. Yakubu said.

He said that an explosion rocked the ELPS and investigation revealed that a dynamite had been used on four ruptured points on June 25, 2013. Engineers from the Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) were mobilised immediately to commence repair works; but as repairs progressed, more points of rupture emerged, he said.

“At the last count, 20 ruptured points have been identified, all due to deliberate dynamite explosion. NGC completed repairs in November and on commissioning in December, rapid pressure loss was experienced indicating further rupture in weakened locations. We have since effected repair on these new points and re-commenced commissioning activities,” he said

Gas pipeline vandalism is the latest national PROBLEM and a potent threat to the power road map of the FG.

Yes, it is the responsibility of govt to tackle such PROBLEMS but even as those in authority take measures to SOLVE this new PROBLEM, Nigerians need to know those behind the PROBLEMS. Nigerians deserve to know those responsible for vandalizing the country's critical gas pipelines, thereby jeopardizing the power sector and forcing darkness on millions of homes. Nigerians deserves to know who these agents of DARKNESS are so we can collectively confront them on ALL fronts.

After all, we know Boko Haram is behind the mayhem in certain parts of the north and we'r currently fighting them. The Americans knew Osama Bin Laden and his group were behind the 9/11 attacks and justice has been meted out to some of them. So Nigerians also need to know those behind the new national PROBLEM of gas pipeline vandalism in their country.

So who are those behind the new wave of gas pipeline vandalism in Nigeria? Personally, I am fully convinced and 100% sure that the leaders of APC sponsored the dogs that vandalize our gas pipelines.

Here is how I arrived at this conclusion. Unlike crude oil pipelines, vandalism of gas pipelines is a very rare occurrence. The reason is simple-there's no economic benefit in vandalizing gas pipelines.

Check out the facts and connect the dots:

1. The latest attack on critical gas pipeline happened in 2013.

2. Before the 2013 attack, the last incident of gas pipeline vandalism was around 2009 at was LINKED to militant groups in the Niger Delta.

I have searched and searched but couldn't find any other major attacks on gas pipeline before the 2009 attack and between the 2009 and 2013 attack.

3. Since the amnesty programme was started in 2009, there has been no incident of gas pipeline vandalism until 2013

4. Vandalism of gas pipelines is pure sabotage because, unlike crude oil pipelines, there is no economic benefit to it.

5. Who are the potential beneficiaries of gas pipeline vandalism? They include generator importers, diesel merchants, pipeline repair contract beneficiaries, opposition political parties (APC) and maybe Niger Delta militant group.

6. Of this group of potential beneficiaries, only the APC emerged in 2013. The others existed before 2013. The Niger Delta militants have calm down with the amnesty programme and unlike in the past, there is NO media report linking the 2013 attacks to any militant group in the Niger Delta
